  LeapFest - Spring 2002

On the chill morning of April 20, 2002, roughly 60 adventurous UW Madison students gathered their courage and embarked on... LeapFest! The Mad City Skydivers semesterly outing to Skydive Chicago was a great success, and this group of thrill-seekers lived to tell the tale.

Ok, on a less cheesy note, if any of you got video of your jump and would like to loan me some photos, I'll scan them in and add them to the collection. Email poijuggler (at) gmail (dot) com. Thanks!

One of Skydive Chicago's airplanes waits in the hanger

A view from inside - no seats!

One of the lovely ladies in manifest, where you sign in

Waiting in the hanger and getting suited up

When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not, hmm?

Our instructors take the job of training students very seriously

All dressed up and nowhere to go, but up!

What does that say on your harness?

Uh-oh, time to go!

Now boarding at gate number 1

The moment of truth...

Getting used to falling

Rip up some Atmosphere!

Will it open???

Your cameraman lands first

...and then you're back

The sky's not the limit - the ground is!

Tandem masters get all the love

I think they liked it!

Getting those smiles on film

...so SkyCam can edit your video for you

Uncle Jerry's from Madison too

Another satisfied customer

Now they know why birds sing

Some of us already knew

In the afternoon, we relax and watch a movie

...and the bar opens at sunset

When night falls, we move the keg to the bonfire pit

where we all enjoy the warmth on a cold night

The keg and the party move to the pavilion when it starts to rain

Finally, the next morning, it's time to head home.

'Till next time... Blue Skies!
